He didn't choose to talk about the alphabet people because he wanted controversy, the special was a tribute to a friend of his who happened to be transgender...
This friend of his was brutally attacked after Dave's last Netflix special by the same deranged mob that's been trying to cancel him for several years now...
His friend was attacked just for supporting Dave and six days later she committed suicide...
Clearly he couldn't let that slide and allow his friend to be forgotten, hence the special titled "The Closer"...
As for his latest comments today, he didn't address the controversy for more controversy, he started by addressing a lie from a deranged sexually confused former crackhead racist who organized a protest against him 4 days ago and claimed Dave rejected an invitation to talk to them...What was he supposed to do? Let them lie on his name? The other part of his speech was about his film being canceled, a film that he and his team clearly spent quite a bit of time on...What exactly is wrong with him taking 5 minutes to address this?
