People are doing to much over a comedian doing comedian shyt.

Although I do wonder if it was some white comedian going off about black people how inconsistent people would be :francis:

Good question. I think it boils down to intent as Chappelle's jokes towards them didn't come from a place of malice. Bill Burr did a bit on slavery and modern day black genetics. Same thing that got Jimmy the Greek fired. Burr's jokes didn't come from a place of malice though, and it was funny.

If it's in the context of comedy and it's actually funny then I can laugh at it. I have seen Bill Burr and few other white comedians do jokes about black people in front of black audiences, if it's funny then it's not that serious.

I ultimately agree with this. I was under the impression that was how comedic routines should be interpreted

I was listening to Glasses Malone's podcast on Spotify last week and he made a good point..

He basically said that no group is above jokes...

Not sure why the Trans community feel the need to address Dave Chappelle on things as if he need to give them special treatment.

For me,

I can care less how people choose to live their truth, but one thing people can't do is expect others to accept them when it isn't their choice to make...

One may or may not be accepted for whatever reason. Now, if someone is disrespectful towards someone or a group, then address that.

Other than that, live one's life and treat others how one would like to be treated.

I hope DC doesn't bend toward anyone's demands, especially I'd theybsrent offering to bend to his demands...
