Keem has a platinum album. Kendrick runs rap :wow:

None of Drakes or Coles protégés have anything above gold :umad:

I do think Jid could/should be bigger. I think if he had that 1 Cole feature that was a hit,he would blow. Feel hes at that Corey Gunz spot when he dropped that 6 foot 7 foot with Lil wayne, if gunz would have stayed out of trouble I think he would have had a moment.

Im also not a baby Keem fan but hes pretty popular with the younger crowd. Id say hes C tier in popularity. Below a Gunna and young thug. But Kendrick had that Famiky Ties song with him that was pretty big, giving him his hit to make him relevant now to the younger crowd.

Drake gave u Party and he gave several nothing artist hit records to have an opportunity to make themselves something, they just never do.

I mean best Jay and Nas gave us was what? Bleek, Beans, and Bravehearts?

I think Dreamville has done a good job at delivering talent to the masses (somewhat). I mean, JID, Ari, Bas, Earth Gang etc with multiple albums. And that Revenge of the Dreamers 3 roll out was a real moment.

But yeah, I can imagine juggling that whole label while still being an artist of Cole's stature must be tough. Maybe Ib is running the show more.

Salute Dreamville, it was really them and TDE for awhile in that semi alternative lane.

This is the problem in signing to another artist. They are working on their own shyt and won't have the time to figure shyt out for everybody. I still think it's worth the look to sign with a star like Cole, but you're gonna have to get shyt popping on your own.

I think only Lil Wayne has successfully brought up stars while active, probably because his output was so ridiculous. He could drop his own project, do a Young Money album and still have 3 features on a Drake or Nikki project. That nikka was gonna force feed Tyga verses whether we liked it or not. I'm not sure if that will work in 2025 but it did the trick in 08-10.

I bet it does 50k first week plus, and I’m not even a Keem guy like that
Idk about all that. I think it's possible because labels will use all kinds of methods to juice the numbers. But I maintain hes not on gun a thugs tier.

Does Jay get credit for Cole and Rihanna?
Ari Lennox wasn't going to be a star :why:
What do you mean when you say star? Like, comparable to who? She's been off dreamville for 5-6 months. Why hasn't interscope made her a star?

Why does everyone think that rappers with labels have the power to make superstars like a major? If you don't get the majors to get behind you and make a huge push to said artist ain't nothing going to happen. The only one I can see being a superstar is JID but even that's a reach.

He did right by everyone involved with Dreamville imo. JID said on JBP that Cole sold Dreamville and set everyone up so they wouldnt have to work the rest of their lives. What more can you ask for? Money > fame.

Damn rest of their lives gotta be in the 10-20 million range :merchant: ?

No way Dreamville was worth that much

Nicki was also fukking with Gucci Mane heavy before she became Pink Print Nicki. Gucci was my first introduction to Nicki. Hell, I thought she was signed to So Icey.
