How he allowed a goddess like Ari Lennox to fade on his watch? Hard to take his "Black woman this, black woman that" bars seriously:francis:.

salute to him for sharing some of the profits with artist. But having Ari and JID and not doing more was a fumble.

Ari mentally wants to be Summer but just ain’t got it. Cole actually saved her career keeping her in that Badu lane.

We see what she’s done since leaving….. absolutely nothing

:yeshrug: People were literally saying the same shyt about Jay pertaining to Cole. At the end of the day, you have to build your own lane and fandom.

We did,and we wondered who this bootleg Drake that Jay was trying to force on us was. Because he was trash compared to what Jay historically had introduced us too.

J Cole is one of the biggest stars in hiphop today and he didnt force me to know who Ari or JID was. I dont know either of them through him.

People love using this "what have they done since" line. Ever heard of striking while the iron is hot?

Well J Cole stood there in deep meditation somewhere holding the iron while all the water steamed and evaporated out of it:snoop:.

Yeah shes RNB,she couldve for sure gave his albums some much needed soul.

If you have the talent and drive to be a star, you will without anyone holding your hand.

JID has done exactly that.

All artist aren't meant for stardom because they can't handle being the talent and the suit simultaneously or they don't have the team to be the suits. Finding success in the entertainment industry is a tremendous amount of work because the most important thing is being showcased in front of as many people as possible and then figuring out how to connect to as many as you can.

Ari Lennox is not in a lane that's big, so shes only going to be so successful. She should look at what Kehlani is doing lane wise.

I figured he had good intentions but think he had too much on his plate.

If I was on I'd try to put as MANY folks as I could on, but being an Entertainer as WELL would be hard as fukk!

to successfully push and manage 20 artists you need to be behind the scenes with a team and NOBODY Ever see's you in public cause you ain't got time for entertainer shyt.

I been a Top Dawg Entertainment fan since Long term ,and I JUST found out what Top look like

:russ:

I mean, The Roc did it. Had Jay, Kanye, Cam, Beans, Freeway, etc. all pumping out music.

You just can't do it all by yourself if you're Jay/J-Cole. You have to have a Dame who handles the day-to-day.

This right here.

Busta tried, and Rah Digga said she told him that most artists should just stick to being artists. Busta had Digga, Roc Marci and Lord Have Mercy and couldn't get sh*t going for any of them. Being a label head ain't for everybody.

ASAP Rocky helped launch a bigger rap star than any of the Big 3 did :wow:

But I was told that it’s different now. I was told you don’t need labels to blow up, you can just post a song and you’re outta here. Charlamagne and anybody saying this shyt need to stop! All these artists were dropping music, touring, hell Cole was doing features with them. He can’t make people like them. Hell people have been saying Drake, Cole, or Kendrick for like 15 years now.. it’s like a million rappers and singers out here and their albums are all in our pockets. I don’t think the Ari/JD and Bryan Michael Cox marriage is going to work.. she dropped her best work on Dreamville imo. People just wasn’t fukking with it.:yeshrug: The radio guy having this take when he’s one of the people that could help these artists blow up is hilarious.

ehh I see it both ways. mostly I agree with @Piff Perkins

with that being said, in reality JID has made noise, but the only "star" from the BIG 3 in reality out of all the people they tried to put on is Party. if we are judging a star on streams, IG and touring, as well as bops away from that big 3 artist:yeshrug:

1 person outta 3 labels of the big 3 is pretty insane, isnt great....but in reality there are no more new stars now in hip hop sadly. that shyt has passed at least for now
