I would like to see you factually authentic those other songs over ether, culturally.
you would fail on epic proportions.

Art Barr

lol ether is mad good diss but it has gay jokes and shyt, it falls flat in that regard solely, you can tell Nas was mad and provoked when he spit that, at least Hov did that playful flow, it's almost like he wasn't even taking it seriously at time, after ether he prolly did but w/e, most of these diss tracks I included in my previous post are better than both ether and takeover, they're just not iconic enough and none of these artists have stans as ignorant and annoying as nas and jay z do and that's why those disses ain't as overdone talk wise as ether/takeover. fact.

but I guess the real reason these discussion are still happening decades after is because they're both among GOAT contenders and none of those artists diss tracks I mentioned aren't among GOAT contenders so yeah.

The Ghetto of Oz
Corny ?

Hell no

But I always thought it was overrated

Part of the problem is Jay didnt push TakeOver as a single

That shyt needed a tough video to highlight the points

He did it wrong although it has great punches like

"You made it a hot line...."
"Smarten Up NaS"
"We dont believe you.."

"Two of them shyts was doo....every ten year average" :scusthov:

When did "facts" ever matter in a diss record?!

Whoever had tha hardest insults in a diss record make the diss record hot.

Diss records are made to HUMILIATE/CLOWN.

Make up new rules in battle rapping cuz ya favorite rapper got his ass handed to him brehs.

Nas' peers are his peers so i compare him to his peers

and compared to his peers he's lost greatly

Compared to mine(the average citizen) Im quite well off :ehh:
This is the dumbest thing your chubby fingers has ever typed..

Nas has done better than 95% of his peers...On every level.. By every metric...Artistically, financially, spiritually and physically..

You don't even know who his peers are because you're a Top 40 bopper that thinks everything ends and begins with who's on Hot 97's drive time playlist..

:mjlol:

Nas came in the game with the class of Mic Geronimo, Jeru Da Damaja and O.C., Saffir and Keith Murray..

Those are his peers...And they all probably wish they could trade places with his career...

I don't know what's worse, this fakkits post or the idiots who dapped it:heh:
The funniest part about all these anti-Illmatic trolls claiming that Takeover was 100% facts, is that one of the "facts" in Takeover was that Illmatic was a hot album.

Jiggaman e-team is here lol. Everything u said was a lie, J paid him 10 mill up front and J had zero control of his artistic content. Good try breh.

nah, ur wrong breh, he didn't have control over his content ofc, jigga couldn't care less even if nas put out dubstep tracks :mjlol: but he still had to give album a pass before it goes to publishing and start to print for sale

Its not about the sales its about the quality.

And as far as the quality its kind of arguable :itsalright:

Illmatic was hot. I personally like IWW, but the general consensus at the time is that it was underwhelming after Illmatic.
And after that Nas didnt drop a anything in comparison
until Stillmatic (which obviously came out after takeover)

"2 of them shyts was doo, one was ehhhh (IWW) the other was Illmatic".

Id say its pretty accurate:ehh:

Thats not true, so your point is :trash:..... Before I logged onto the coli I had NEVER heard anyone say a bad thing about IWW, as a matter of fact I used to argue with people because they said it was better than Illmatic cuz it had more than 10 songs, and there is probably 1 or 2 songs I skip between both albums....

and after that I am came out which was not only good, but a commercial success with hate me now, which was a great song... God son was ok, didnt have any standout tracks, but then he did lost tapes which was great.. so yall can stop with the revisionist history... and a fukks with CTG but he is wrong for the most part, Either was the better diss record only because he really went in on jay and nobody had tried him before, takeover was only one verse and super ugly had the worst beat ever so fukk that song

And that's a win? He paid Nas 10 mill son. He didn't have any say in Nas' album. He basically paid Nas 10 mill so he could feature on black republican. Ain't no spinnin that son.
