I love bananas but plantains are just hit or miss for me Even though the Black population out here is predominantly ADOS, we do got a decent size African and Caribbean segment in the DMV with their own restaurants and lil carryouts so some of us out here have tried their plantains at least once. It’s funny tho because my mom made plantains from scratch (me and the whole fam are ADOS for full disclosure) and hers tasted better than ones I’ve had at the aforesaid establishments. Add some shyto on them bytches for an extra kick and you got yourself a nice lil side dish


But yeah, plantains ain’t bad per say. I just think they’re a lil overrated and they seem easy to fukk up on. At the end of the day tho, it’s the sweet potato and candied yams for me

Yeah my mom's full ADOS, but she used to make plantanos w/ garlic sauce. Her's was the best plantanos I've had, and I live around a gang of Latins.
