Didn't watch any NFL games yesterday.

Looking at the highlights, watching those games would've been like watching paint dry.

But many NFL fans are like that woman that has a man who cheats and beats on her, but she never has the thought of leaving.

Goofies would have a watch party for a game with teams out of the playoffs race:mjlol:
You can still put money on it

Saw someone say similar on Twitter but tradition aside, the fundamental difference between NBA on Christmas and NFL on Christmas, is at this point of the year the NFL regular season is winding down while the NBA’s is hitting its stride

If this had been Week 5 or 6, then those NFL matchups would’ve been a lot more interesting. But as it stands those matchups looked awful on paper and doesn’t sound like they beat the allegations.

Either way, I don’t give a shyt. The people who want to watch basketball will watch and a lot of those who put the NFL on weren’t going to watch the NBA regardless.

Absolute facts. I don't watch the NFL at all outside of the AFC/NFC finals games and the Superbowl. I'll be watching the NBA on Christmas regardless

Tell NBC you get a thanksgiving triple header next year. Or just start the season on Christmas. Goodell and Stern had a handshake agreement to not infringe on eachothers holidays. You would see a game on thanksgivng for the NBA and nfl on christmas on Sunday
Tagliabue/Goodell didn’t want any smoke with the nba when Stern was in charge but then goodell saw silver’s goofy/corny lizard face and felt his weakness, smelt blood, deebo’ed silver and stole Christmas from the nba for good.

Love him Or hate him, stern forced his counterparts to respect him and his product/ league. Under his watch/reign the nfl would never dared to pull such a disrespect stunt like that to the Association.

Stern = old school, visionary, ambitious, protector/defender of the league, cherished the nba, true lover of the game/sport of basketball . wily, stern( literally lol) practical, uncompromising, strong, tough Jew with firm boundaries

Silver= taking the commissioner’s job seriously, resting on his laurels and taking the league/sport for granted, new age, corporate, geek/nerd, uncreative, soft, weak, not even a sports/basketball fan, accommodating, politically correct, sensitive, gimmick loving /people pleaser Jew

It was better back then When tough basketball loving Jews like stern ran the Association with an iron fist

Tbh I don’t think it has to do with Stern boogeyman as much as these networks/streaming services offering the NFL crazy money and them taking it

They used to have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with CFB too and put games in completing slots with their playoffs :manny:

It wouldn't make a difference if Stern were commissioner or not. The NFL would do what they want regardless of who is commissioner of the NBA.

Unless there's an ironclad signed and notarized agreement with legal ramifications and repercussions between the 2 leagues, everyone involved from front office, to players, to coaches, to fans of both leagues need to STFU, big time.

Ain't no such thing as a handshake / gentleman's agreement in big business (and life in general, for that matter), and if you think that's not the case prepare yourself for a lifetime of disappointment with a side order of bıtching after the fact. And the disappointed / complainer in the deal will always be the weaker party of the 2.

If the NBA doesn't want the NFL to encroach on their imagined Christmas Day monopoly, put out a better product and leave no space in the margins for another entity to usurp what you thought you had. It's like cleaning your kitchen but leaving a morsel of food big enough for a mouse to eat, then acting salty and surprised that a fukkin rat took a shıt all over your hardwood floor.

NFL is the dom and NBA is the sub, and like any dom / sub relationship, one calls the shots and the other has no choice but to take the punishment.

I don’t even think there’s a punishment involved really

Last year the NBA’s Christmas ratings went up despite going against the NFL. I think people are overestimating the overlap between the NFL and NBA’s fanbases. It’s not like if those games weren’t on, all of those people would’ve flipped to the NBA.

Then why is Barkley complaining? If the NFL's Christmas Day slate is of no threat to the NBA's, the only reason for bıtching about it must be coming from a place of insecurity.

And I'm not even trying to say you're wrong. All I'm saying is unless there's an agreement between any of the 4 majors that each league can monopolize a certain holiday then each league and their representatives needs to not complain about it. That's the free market economy we live in. If a Shell can exist across the street from an Exxon, then any league can play on any damn day they very well please. Chuck sounds like he's coming at this from a childishly naive viewpoint.

It's like complaining that your FWB that you don't wanna make it official with done gone and gave the skins to some other dude, yahmean?

If Charles Barkley isn’t complaining about something then it means he’s either dead or gone mute :skip:

I agree, that’s why I also wish the NBA would start putting games on Thanksgiving again. Those who want to watch, will watch.

If a person decides to watch an eliminated Cowboys go against an awful Josh Johnson led Commanders team over SA-OKC, they likely don’t fukk with the NBA like that anyway. The NBA execs can hope to win them over but good luck
