That won't happen. Patterson is tied to Charlie Strong. He went against boosters and the grain. He gonna let Charlie build the program and give him time.

Unlike Dodds Patterson isn't a puppet for the Cigars at Texas.

I like Charlie Strong a lot. But he isn't what the Big 12 has been priding themselves about. Stoops, Kingsbury, and Briles all downplayed the SEC defenses, and the Big 12 defenders claimed these high powered spread offenses are products of the Big 12.

Didn't a Longhorn fan on here even claim that part of Brown's own doing was he went away from these offensive schemes, and bought into trying to compete with SEC defenses? that brown panicked after losing to Bama.

He's a great hire, I like him a lot. But, he's one of those things that don't belong with the others in the Big 12. It'll be interesting, mostly because he's the opposite of what the other coaches preach in that conference.

Mack Brown declined because changed offenses. He went from a spread that the Big 12 was running and tried to run pro style run first physical offenses and that backfired on him. His players were not suited to play that style. He then tried to change it back but it was to late. We will see what Strong does when it comes to coordinators. But defensively, he will be fine. Find somebody that can defend the spread.
