I’m living in Charlotte now. Im a progressive. I’m actually not opposed to it actually. It should galvanize the NC Democratic Party as well as progressive Independents to act as direct opposition to this administration. There is a reason conservative states didn’t bid for the RNC and it’s because the current president is toxic. The fervent support he arouses is dwarfed by the animosity he inspires. To have that up close and personal will force activists to act. It even hurts the local Republicans because it draws funds from their campaigns to support the national party. And the local Republicans will have to choose to either come out and support this president or stay away from Charlotte and be condemned by a wing within their party. Lose lose for local Republicans.
I still wonder is going to challenge Trump within the party in 2020
