I would say wait until Jokic retires, but yes retire Melo.

Keep in mind Denver was a damn doormat prior to him getting drafted by them.

Not that I agree/disagree with Chauncey, but ever since Jokic pushed Melo into the background of that franchise, there's been this narrative of trying to get Melo back into the picture on some participation trophy shyt.

It's especially wild given the terms that Melo and the Nuggets parted ways.

A better player came to the franchise and reclaimed that number while Melo was still in the league. It's not his anymore
The "Jokic should have never got the number" would make more sense if Melo was already retired. It's not the Nuggets fault a second rounder wanted that number and ended up the best player in franchise history. What's the precedent for this? Even if it's some kind of joint retirement it's not going to hit the same and at that point it's a disservice to Jokic
