Has he even been an assistant coach, idk what the outrage is about

The seeds are being planted...the narrative will be all about blaming the CAVS front office instability and LeBron dodges some backlash for leaving...again...that's my take at least

Lol it's not a soap opera, bron ain't going anywhereHe knows LeBron is gone
Who's to say he will even be around to work out that contract. Who's to say there wont more layoffs in the coming years.
There aren't that many black GM's in the NBA and he turned it down.
Sometimes you gotta look beyond the money. But at the end of the day he probably look at the dynamic of the team and the volatility of the situation. He was going into an established team environment so there was little wiggle room to learn on the job. He saw it as a lame duck situation. He wasn't going to pick his coach and then there was LeBron. Honestly I wouldn't have even offered him the position.
because "other" people get jobs you wouldn't think they're qualified for all the time. You don't talk shyt about a black man being offered a good job, you congratulate him and and keep you mouth shut otherwise, unless of course you're a....
But.... he's NEVER been a GM before.
Why would he expect to get paid a lot for no experience
You gotta start somewhere.
