What makes you think we're mad? Plenty of shyt is getting built, it's just the visibility of it that presents difficulty. Black people have to seek Black businesses and creations, through thousands of Black business directories and social media. It aint easy, but it's definitely there. You can't convince me 50 million people are just sitting around not doing shyt.

Rapgenius was really for all the cac bloggers and culture vultures who didn't understand the coded lingo of hip hop and didn't really want to do the work to decode and decipher. They created a place where others who knew could provide them with the information so they could then be able to latch on and catch on to our shyt. Real listeners just keep playing it and playing it and then sometimes weeks, months or even years may pass before it hits us. White folks got their hand in every part of black culture. I bet white folks are cuttin up and packaging chitlins (no I don't eat them). They sign the recording deals, the label deals, they choose whats on the radio and TV. They make the liquors that these rappers endorse, and the stadiums these rappers "own." They monetize every ounce of our culture. In 50 years, the average person will have no clue that black people birthed hip hop. It's headed the way of rock and roll and we refuse to take care of it no matter how blatant it is. If you think somebody's a c00n for using this site, then you're really in for a rude awakening.

And really, lyrics are meant to be universal, where you can make your own meaning from them. Not some literal "this line directly refers to 2006 where the artist did this and this etc. etc."
