In summer school for 7th grade in 2005 my summer school teacher told stories about how wild NYC schools were back in the day. Nikkas used to get jumped every single day. Dudes would line up by the exits and start punching random kids leaving school...


I'm so glad I'm an early 90s NYC millennial and not an early 80s millennial or Gen X'er the crime was no joke back then.

shyt was wilder and people were not 'nicer'(hear this corny bs all the time). Phones if anything have made a lot of folks tamer because they are more focused on the digital world than the real one. Increasingly more anti social people leads to less crime not more.

My favorite is people saying relationships were so much better. There was a ton of single mothers in the 80s and 90s. fukking and forgetting is as old as time. I did my fair share of it I know.
