Who even says that

MehCheck the murder rates, nikkas were wilder in the past.
A lot of dudes were deadbeats in the 80s and 90s. They wore it like a badge of honor. Relationships were different because most people didn't get outside their circle. Everyone dated everyone in the same circle. People were "nicer" because they stayed in the same social circle for life. You would have beef for a year or two then squash it and be friends again cause you had no one else to hang with. You weren't having friends all over the city, much less the country or world.shyt was wilder and people were not 'nicer'(hear this corny bs all the time). Phones if anything have made a lot of folks tamer because they are more focused on the digital world than the real one. Increasingly more anti social people leads to less crime not more.
My favorite is people saying relationships were so much better. There was a ton of single mothers in the 80s and 90s. fukking and forgetting is as old as time. I did my fair share of it I know.

I'm on the older and even disputed other old heads on this site not acknowledging the level of fyckery in the 80s and 90s.
Finding out your uncle was kidnapping people back in the day and that your uncles and aunties cleaned up the story to make it seem like he only did it to drug dealers when that wasn’t even the worse he was doingI had no idea the Junction was crazy like that that recently... I went to I.S 33 in bed stuy due to a brief stint living with family in the Tompkins pjs (school is now closed due to poor performance). There was problems but nikkas was able to go to and from school without issue. 8th grade I moved back to Flatbush but still attended 33 because I didn't want to go to an new JHS for only one year.nikka I had to fight almost every day to get home from school when I was going to Hudde Junior High
This was 04 to 07
Flatbush Junction was no joke back then

This has been talked about over and over that the country used to be far more dangerous on this website.

Meh
Just cause they could get away with it
CCTV and forensic technology got dudes thinking twice

I hear what you are saying but I don't think that's what it was exactly. Most experts agree that taking the lead out of many everyday products was probably the main contributing factor to those steep declines we eventually saw.Crack Epidemic, and the "real nikka" mentality done ravaged generations of black folks. Cats did dirt to get rep, so no one on their block picks on them. Crabs in a Barrel type shyt.
Crime has continuously gotten lesser the longer time has gone on, but watching the news every day would have you thinking the whole thing was falling apart.Check the murder rates, nikkas were wilder in the past.
We already know if social media and phones. Were more available back then like it is today. A lot of wild shyt would’ve been exposed. It trips me out when old heads be on some. “Back in my day we didn’t shoot instead we boxed it out.”
