Like I said, we ended up moving down south to get away from that shyt. Long story short some street shyt popped off and my moms sent my 2 older brothers out the country to Jamaica and me and my other brother moved to the other side of BK, then ended up moving down south a few months later.

I went to school in NYC, and if you don't think inner city schools are cesspools, go watch the documentary Waiting For Superman. Most inner city schools are beyond fukked up. Unless you went to school there, you wouldn't believe me if I told you.

School funding is based on property tax. The schools in the poorest neighborhoods receive the least amount of money. Which means the students receive an inferior education and end up dropping out and having to resort to illicit means to make money.

If the students are receiving a poor education, it doesn't matter how well funded the school is. You said them nikkas should go take the SAT, how is that feasible when 30% of the students in the best schools aren't even ready for college math?

You made an argument that these schools are so poorly funded that they don't even have heating. Unless these schools are literally burning their operating budget, that can't be the case. Money and no heat/poor building conditions aren't the issue.

I admit that half the problem is low quality teachers, but the other half is lazy ass parents and children who just don't give a damn about their education. Taking time outside of the classroom for free tutoring, reading novels/newspapers/etc can overcome poor classroom instruction.

Just because one person makes it out, that doesn't mean its possible for anyone and everyone to make it out. An exception doesn't make the rule invalid. This is that Republican train of thought where everyone can pull themselves up, not reality.
