Also, I doubt school infrastructure in Chicago public schools is as meager as where you grew up. Operational spending per pupil far exceeds the national average and even surpasses that of the top ranked high schools in surrounding suburbs.

You made an argument that these schools are so poorly funded that they don't even have heating. Unless these schools are literally burning their operating budget, that can't be the case. Money and no heat/poor building conditions aren't the issue.

I admit that half the problem is low quality teachers, but the other half is lazy ass parents and children who just don't give a damn about their education. Taking time outside of the classroom for free tutoring, reading novels/newspapers/etc can overcome poor classroom instruction.

Brother, I'm probably more educated on these matters than you are. I volunteer with inner-city charter schools and non-profit organizations that help prepare poor black kids college applications. Education is one of the few things in life I take seriously.

I know it's rough in the ghetto for these kids, but sitting on your ass and complaining about some mythical white man holding you down isn't going to solve anything. Wallowing in self-pity isn't proactive. It's the same as some fat ass who refuses to go to the gym and get in shape. Yeah, maybe he was reared in an environment where he only ate fattening food or maybe he's got a genetic disposition to be heavier than others. However, most people will get on his case if he continues to eat up the world and not get in shape.

Complaining about institutionalized racism and doing nothing isn't gonna help these kids. Sitting here and refusing to believe there's no self-help is just surrendering to the white man.
