It’s not a sustainable way of solving a problem. It’s literally for show; not for solving crimes or permanently decreasing criminal activity.

The National Guard by law can only be there for 30 days. Any time after that requires the government to pay them more money, which is why they make sure they get the hell out of there. If they truly cared, they would pay hundreds millions of dollars to keep them there 24/7, right?

This is a publicity stunt. You think Trump actually cares about black people’s plight?

There’s a reason republicans refuse to bring up sending the military into cities much more violent than Chicago, and it’s because those cities are run by republicans.

Which is why they’ll bring up “red state violence” as if the coli EVER tries to be apologist red states, and doesn’t roast them too. They’re so political minded, brining up how abnormal a lot of the Chicago violence is, makes them think you’re a political opp.

There’s neighborhoods on the Westside and Southside of Chicago, where the per capita violence is some of the worst in the nation. West Garfield Park has had 1,000 shootings and 400 homicides in 10yrs.

A lot of black folks who say “ they don’t need a military presence, etc etc” dont even live in these communities, hearing gun fires every day, innocent kids being picked on, shot at, etc etc

And kill that well well i used to live in those same areas, but you don’t now

Thats why i smh at these tariqs and DL Hughley’s and these people in the media who don’t want the presence there, but they live quiet/well to do neighborhoods

If my elderly parents or my kids live in these areas I want more policing in the area..

Fair point. So the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois should figure out the best solution since this is a state problem not a federal government problem.

I agree. Chicago's city government and Illinois's state government should work on a plan of action together and then implement it. Something needs to be done.

Crazy that this is actually an improvement over previous years
50 yrs from now it's probably going to be documentaries on this problem, something like "Summer in Chicago: Cookouts and Death" or some shyt like that with people wondering how df did this level of violence predictably occur over and over and over again without anyone doing anything about it
