There is the concept of UNSUSTAINABILITY. If you have a cop on every corner, crime will drop. You ALSO will dedicate 90% of the city budget to cops and have shyt schools, sanitation, road maintenance, forget public programs etc. But hey!!!! Crime dropped a bit.

Adding more cops is a temporary fix to high crime at best. You still have to materially change the economic conditions on the ground that breed crime.

He could've directed some of that 500-600 Million he spent on illegals to helping constituents in high crime areas.

I don’t get it. He said that one of the major deterrents to crime is actually solving cases and getting justice and he revamped his detectives but then he turns around and acts like saying yes to more cops along with the other programs he already has in place is detrimental. There is nothing wrong with wanting more police around especially in specific areas as long as there are other programs like those that he mentioned in place to help people.

You’re not from Chicago. You have no idea what you’re talking about. The issue isn’t a lack of police. If the resources aren’t being utilized correctly or they’re hiring a bunch of corrupt pieces of shyt, you could have 50k police officers and it won’t mean a thing.

Investing in communities actually makes a big deal if the goal to try to mitigate the circumstances that lead to violent crime.


If you strengthen education, give kids and teens safe spaces to be able to live, improve the green spaces in your area and actually make good on this idea that it's easier to get jobs, you can see improvements, but politicians especially the higher up you go think it's a waste of time because they have no interest in fixing these problems. Trump couldn't wait a week to take a victory lap about protecting the national mall because he has no real interest in protecting DC. Telling people that you're reducing crime is easier than actually doing it.
