So you’d rather let someone else turn him in? What if he gets a decent job, gets identified, and loses the job? An ass whooping isn’t going to stop him from committing armed robbery again.
He’s 18, and smart enough to get into Loyola, yet can’t get a part time job to buy food in an economy begging people to work. What if he stole the last $100 from a mother trying to feed her children, or pay a bill? If she didn’t turn him in, she’s teaching him this is acceptable. Actions have consequences.
