After that 7 year window I was good
Got a degree while waiting and my life good.
That your life is over because you got a felony is BS plenty if cats I personally know that is living life great.
Now if you get a felon and keep fukking up:manny:

Thats good to hear that you were able to turn your life around despite the felony :ehh:

Most of the time I hear its a death sentence.

I wouldn’t have turned my son in. It’d be hypocritical, I used to steal things (really up until graduating from undergrad). He already knows because I’ve told him about it.

Although armed robbery is crazy. he would’ve received a punishment from me, just one that wouldn’t have involved taking him to the police station. I’d also question him for his stupidity—why commit robbery for only $100 worth? Like you willing to go to jail for that?
:dead:

Dumb.
:comeon:YEA YOURE GONNA
PUNISH A GUN WIELDING 18 YR OLD.

IM SURE THAT WILL WORK

nah, i'm not gonna become an accesory to my kids crimes. Hopefully i raised them good enough that i never have worry about it(in fact i think i am doing that)
But if they get in trouble they get in trouble. They turn themselves in or i will do for them. Then at that point i become a parent again and hire them some good lawyers and shyt.
They can count on me to get them out of jail, not to cover up their crimes. And if i can't get them free i'll at least be there with commissary.

I feel like that would be most parents stances instead of calling the police to identify an unknown assailant as your child. Just kick them out, cut them off and pray they get right before the streets get him. If they ever show signs of changing, support them.

YES KICK THEM OUT,
CUT THEM OFF SO
THEY CAN REALLY HAVE A REASON
TO DO MORE ROBBING
AND KILLING.

WHO GIVES A fukk ABOUT
ALL HIS POTENTIAL VICTIMS
OUT THERE.

JUST PRAY HE GETS HIS HEAD RIGHT

How would you discipline him? Also, how would you make things right with the victim?

I think what’s lost in this whole thing is that the victim was traumatized. Getting a gun pulled on them, not knowing if they are making it back to their family that day. Nobody seems to care :patrice:

I think you just answered your own question…my son isn’t a delinquent so it’s hard to really picture how I would react—I don’t know what I would really do. I know I wouldn’t want to turn him in, but I honestly don’t know how things would play out or how I would punish him or how I would realistically act. I’m only speaking on what I’d want to happen ideally.

I’m sure his dad would turn him in if I didn’t, but i’ve committed a petty crime (nothing along the lines of armed robbery) and my parents covered for me.

The replies in this thread so far by mostly black folks is beyond disturbing.

We have white judges giving white young rapists the most lenient sentences off the basis on them both being white. But black people wanna willingly and gleefully crucify their own over some sh1t that is arguably a lot less serious than rape.

y’all something else

because the lil raggedy ass nikka gone rob you or your family members next

we coddle these criminals way too often in the black community

send his ass upriver, everybody can't be saved

he ain't no asset, that boy is a liability

but ya nikkas always worried about being hood and holding these dummies down when they ain't trying to be shyt anyway

I hate to say this but this needs to happen more in our community. Reason I say this is because a little time in jail for a minor offense will scare most teens straight.

We need to have a conversation about how much we defend and coddle crime.

But what u just said here is ok for a stranger to say. A stranger unrelated to the kid.

But when you are this reckless with the life of your own kid, that speaks volumes to the wise.

It tells me you’re unintelligent on many levels. First of which is the fact that you conveniently forgot this kid is a child. From the age of 18 through 22, maybe even 25, you may be a legal adult but it’s safe to say you’re not nearly as wise as youll ever be, especially when you were raised by a mother who didn’t do a good job raising you, as is evident by you resorting to robbing people.

second, black people, especially Africans, tend to have kids for the sole purpose using them as banks later in life. Some have kids as just a move to ensure someone is around to watch out for them when they’re not able to in their elderly age. When this idiot of a mother gets old and there’s no one to fend for her she’ll bitterly remember how she ruined her child’s life to the point where he became a street rat and could never hold on to a job. All because she wanted to be patted on the back.

Same feelin fam.

Tell my sons all the time they got every opportunity there is. We expose them to a lot of shyt as well outside their box. If you decide to fukk off the opportunities you have to do dumb shyt, suffer the consequences. Still love you but you betta be prepared to pay the cost for any decision you make, good or bad.
