Dude pac had dope albums coming out in the early 2000s that was doing numbers
there was no gateway that was acceptable as a parent in the mainstream to introduce pac.
in the early 2000's duke may have been barely ten and there was no semblence of hiphop as a cultural movement in any capacity like that.
especially where he keef is from.
when i was a kid you had four pillars to indulge in.
with my fam being from bmore i had exposure to hiphop and culture that frustrated non-cultural nikkaz.
so, i already know in keef's day and age with no number of gateways for hiphop.
none of those nikkaz in general from his area are bboys like that, in that age.
plus, chicago likes to be current and has no hiphop history outside of its cultural bboys or bgirls.
so, keef would never have gotten to listen or be a part of the culture or learn about the history like that.
keef would never in general have anyone to put him up on the culture like that.
to know the importance of past historically great artist or music.
i keep telling y'all,..it is only a few bboys and bgirls and a whole bunch of rap fans, who head faking.
keef would have come up in an area.
where it was straight gangsta non-culturally associated rap.
he was also never marketed as a bboy and that is also why the connection to kanye's remix.
was kanye trying to siphon the street aesthetic draw from keef and impose/steal chop's publishing for don't like.
whereas kanye is not associated with or a draw with street nikkaz in the chi in general.
he is taken as emo or a soft pop artist and may not have permeation to that realm in their personal listening at all.
y'all nikkaz not really in general from a place with real grassroots gangs.
so, you don't understand how a culture called hiphop that is non-violent and removed gangs from ny.
has no resonance in a town predominately fueled and directed solely by gangs.
chicago is completely in general removed from the culture of hiphop.
it is only a few of us real bboys/bgirls in the chi for real.
i know so cause i been there seeing it all for myself and i know hands on who gon keep it real, as far as the culture is concerned.
