We'll have to agree to disagree...Ill admit, Im biased when it comes to that time period because I was hot at mainstream rap, and wasnt fckin with none of them niqqas. I would just listen to my lil underground rap cats, and keep it pushin. From like 05-10, I was a miserable, angry rap fan nicca. D4L, Gucci, Waka, Young Dro, Durrough, ying yang, Soulja, that ugly nicca that rapped silly, Snap, trap, clap pop, twerk, jerk, purp, ext, ext...they were all the same to me. I felt under pressure, doggy. I was mad as sht.

I got a much more open mind, and I listen to mainstream type sht a lot now.

yea i see what you sayin

the radio was flooded wit that type of music moreso than the lyrical types

the big dogs always came through tho jeezy,ti,50,em,wayne,ghostface even dropped a classic wit fishscale imo

i just think alot of the lyrical dudes made too much headphone music if you know what i mean... they kinda got pushed out imo

a hit is a hit bottomline imo tho, dudes got know how to make hits

its like the league, yea a nikka in yo hood might be the nicest hooper when it comes to streetball, but can he play in a system and still shine?

its more nikkas wit lyrics AND hits nowadays...its comin back around

The Chi (South Side)
Chief Keef got better songs than Kendrick Lamar...

Kendrick Lamar is just hype...

Chief Keef came up on his OWN co-sign...No Dr Dre or big time dudes hyping him up...Just street banger after street banger...

man :whoa: with the bullshyt. no one was knowing about keef outside the south side of the chi until Kanye remixed his song last summer.

Reminds me of when I went down south as a kid. I was walking around with my cousin when some kid started just shiiiiting on him b. Like going all in on his widow's peak, laughing at his country ass Osh Kosh clothes, making fun of them hand me down Filas, etc. My cousin just shook his head and said "that nikka can't read. No seriously, he's legally illiterate." Turns out this nikka literally couldn't read, was 16 and still in middle school. All he did after school was hang around outside some soul food joint and clown on nikkas, making church kids cry n shyt.

shyt was sad brehs.

Keef got cosigned by damn near half the industry before he got his deal
I mean, nikkaz like jeezy and flocka literally met up with dude at his grandma's crib.

I will say that his buzz was more organic/grassroots based.

chief keef blew up off youtubes, kinda like soulja boy.

I don't even think I ever heard kanye's version. I read about it, and it just came off moreso like kanye was pandering in an attempt to get his own hometown buzz up.

like dude said, chief keef's chit was more organic. Kendrick is a bunch of industry hype.

chief keef still wack tho.

Chief Keef is the most talented rapper to come out in years....

This just my opinion...Call it trolling if you want...But not a single f_ck is given...

Dude is RAW talent...Too bad he doesn't have a smarter "producer" to polish him up a little bit...

Chief Keef before "Finally Rich" is better than Kendrick Lamar...

Y'all people always talking "lyricist this and lyricist that" but I never see Canibus in your top 5 or top 10 lists...

That's why don't take your opinions seriously, the same you don't take mine..

i just listened to cheif keef for the very first time ever, cause i decided to let the hype die down, so i go on youtube and type in his name. i choose the first thing that pops up, which is "love sosa". beat comes on, and it's pretty damn good. i hear him doing a corny ass accent and let it keep playing hoping for something decent. needless to say, he sounds like they pulled a random kid off of the street with no actual talent, and expected him to become some kind of huge star. i did check out 2 or other 3 tracks, and i must admit, he has a great ear for production, but as far as rapping goes, he just needs to stop. i'm sure kendrick didn't even have this dude on his mind, when he wrote that verse.
it's like the president of a company thinking to himself "well, i wonder what the janitor is doing today"

Gucci actually got some skills though. I was one of the "fukk that inbred goof nikka" until I let go of my prejudices and gave some of his shyt a spin. He aint nas in 94 but he got flow and is witty.

I was shocked he was a decent mc :leon:

I think his thick country accent is the reason why alotta people consider him wack. Gucci can flow his azz off.
