How many dads willing to help their baby moms buy a car cause its winter time, they don't want THEIR children in the cold or how many dudes willing to help their baby moms with rent move to a safer neighborhood cause its dangerous or school system is bad for THEIR children ?

In my opinion...the courts need to be gender neutral on who they award custody of the child. Especially if the child has reached a certain age. I am all for more men being custodians of their kids if the court deemed them fit.

I agree sis. Sure, I know there are some bad mothers out there. There are some men out there that would do a better parenting job than the mother, and I think the fathers should get custody.

If the mother is receiving sufficient child support and the children are not being taken care of, the custody of the children needs to go to the father. Father's need to start petitioning the courts to get custody of their kids.

In many cases when the children get older the courts will allow them to decide which parent they would like to stay with. If the children go with the father, the mother's portion of the child support would go to him. That's fair.

In some cases, though, the father does not want the kids. His lifestyle will change-homework, birthday parties, doctor visits, teacher conferences. He may have to leave work early for an emergency room visit, or to talk to the principal about a fight at school. Every weekend getaway, late night at the club, female guest he wants to bring over-the child's needs and situation has to be a priority.
