Let's assume that your kid uses $100 of utilities a month? Why can't you split it 50/50?
Also I've heard of so many men only have their kid like every other weekend. That's four days out of 30 and 48 out of 365 days a year. That's almost over a month out of the year. The child is spending the majority of their life with their mother.
How many men you know have their kids equally? I bet not many. While your weekends and evenings are primarily for yourself your baby momma gotta wake up early cook,get kids dressed and ready for school while having to get herself ready for work. How much is this woman's time worth? You get to stay in bed an extra hour while she up earlier than you. And don't let the kid be a new born. You get to sleep through the night while the momma gotta be up every few hours feeding and changing diapers. You ever have a screaming baby sucking on your titts in the middle of the night trying to eat? Naw you probably still in bed with another woman.
How much is all that worth? You splitting that 50/50 down the middle?
And what about when the kid gets sick. You taking time off work?

If I were to have to get divorced, I'd try to get full custody of my kids. I make more money than my wife, and I work from home, which means I have full access to more easily take care of them as far as getting them to school and activities

There are tons of groups and organizations for fathers who are FIGHTING for custody of their children.
Yea and they pale in comparison to the majority of men who want their time for themselves and have the mother have them most of the time.

Simple answer, the Child is not under my roof. I would love to have custody of my child if I had an issue like presented in the OP. but I don't find it suitable to charge the parent who is required to pay support to also pay the utility bills of the parent in which they stay with.
the legal system is shytty when it comes to determining child support and 7/10 times the female get's sympathy because she's a woman and seldom is it taking into consideration that the mother was a shytty parent. unless the mother is clearly a drug addict or something, they win.
I find it odd that women assume that just because the male is the male, he must also help cover her bill as well. NO! Child Support ain't Ex-Support.

"It takes two to tango" and women should be responsible for taking care of their children equally just like men without receiving extra benefits or incentives from the courts/system.
And if women decide to bring children into the world knowing they can't properly afford to rear them and their dusty babies daddy/daddies are broke, then the ultimate primary responsibility lies with the female.
