Agreed...my best friend and I have financial anxiety. I be scared to spend money. I save a lot. But it just makes me grind harder. Also, it makes me realize how entitled these crackers at work are. They fold under pressure more quickly.

Lights off for weeks.
No hot water for weeks.
No food or drinks in the crib.
Project heat.
Roaches.
Waiting until tax refund time for Christmas gifts.
Shootings.
Chinese store on the corner fed me most nights.

But that prepared me for the world so I appreciate the struggle:blessed:

School projects shytty as hell while the other kids lookin immaculate cuz they could afford the materials.

Sports equipment of the cheapest kind, cleats missing stubs underneath after your first game and having to use them all year.

Being afraid to open my bookbag because a roach might crawl out.

Hoping to get picked up after sports practice.

It's your family time to buy snacks after a game and they bring the worst snacks.

Hate the days when there was a field trip, cuz you would just have to stay in another teacher class while the class had fun.

I agree , but at the same time it makes my grind stronger and makes me more resilient so I don’t ever get to comfortable because I don’t ever want to be in that position for myself and establish wealth for me , my fam and the generation after ..

(I wish I could summarize this better but these allergies got me feeling retarded rn so bare with me :francis:)

I use it as fuel for my career. People be looking at me crazy when I tell them where I need to be at before I even think of slowing down...

Them: You shouldn’t focus on the money.. there’s more to life :ehh:

Me: We’re underpaid, and there’s a lot more money out here.. do you not hear it calling:childplease:

Them: but you make good money now, single no kids.. what more do you want :dwillhuh:

Me: ALL OF IT!! :demonic:

Same here. I definitely was not spoiled growing up, but we weren't fukked up either.

But my early 20 man :wow::picard: .....

I see why dudes out here are ready to hit a stain or sell drugs or get on a corner to beg.

I cant even imagine what It would be like if i were to have a child at that time.:wow:.

To live like that through no fault of your own and simply bad luck is really fukked up:mjcry:

There was an MTV True Life episode about poverty. I was like 12 when I saw this.

It was a poor black family on there who was living in squalor and had just been evicted. The young son was on probation and trying to get into the military. He couldn’t read very well so he had to learn to read before taking the military test.

there was a part in the episode where he couldn’t get a ride to his probation officer so he decided to walk 30 miles on the highway.

by the end of the episode he found out he couldn’t go to the military because he had a record. A felony maybe?

that episode broke my heart as a kid and I’ve always wondered where they ended up.

:mjcry:
