eh....

when I assess infrastructure, i look at its engineering, design, and its integration into the local built environment or local natural environment.

to me, the best infrastructure projects are those that can be built while leaving as little of the natural environment undisturbed while also integrating seamlessly into it.

can't think of many reasons to have halved these hills among using other design/engineering alternatives.

the best infrastructure is smart and thoughtful.
it's not about bulldozing everything down ramshackle. china really hasn't learned this yet.

Thanks for the interest in Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou!

Some asked why a bridge was built instead of a tunnel. I looked into it—complex terrain, higher costs, and safety concerns made tunneling impractical. The bridge was the smartest, most appropriate choice.

For people and development, no mountain’s too high.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, in SW China’s #Guizhou, connects villages and improves lives. @UpGuizhou

Wait for the sides to become green again. This way of building roads through mountains is also done in Spain and it looks beautiful there too.

More, maintenance and operating costs of bridge are lower than tunnel should also be considered.

I'm confused. Have people never visited the Western United states, Upstate NY, PA, Carolinas, and West Virginia? :heh:

Most of the major interstates cut through mountains to build highways. Then the video adds suspense music like it's some new invention. Social media is hilarious lol
where in west virginia?

they have the biggest population in the world, it would make no sense if they didn't have the highest emission. whats crazy is the U.S is second but third in terms of population.

America was doing this 100 plus years ago.
You can really tell who hasn’t left their immediate vicinity in their life if mountain highways and tunnels is impressive to them. :mjlol:

of course.
and that is exactly why they should be pursuing projects that minimizes, to the extent that they can, that footprint. china, like the us until recently, should be making a concerted effort in managing it. but they're not.

"The second, more widespread reason that construction projects do not follow strict communication protocols between interested parties is due to corruption. Construction projects require huge budgets and bank loans- by cutting corners here and there, developers and contractors can pocket large sums of money. This means skimping on things like wall insulation, substituting quality exterior and interior cladding materials for inferior ones, and even using cheaper plumbing and electrical equipment."

Sometimes you need to look at other sources to get a full view of what is going on, because governments will use propaganda to push an image about what they are doing like it is special, unique, and better than other areas. The truth is normally farless spectacular than what the propaganda would have you thinking.

This is just sour grapes. :mjlol:
