Is their one man one child policy still in practice?

Now it's a two child policy. But the problem is that the one child policy was around so long that now the cultural norm is only to have one kid even when the state is trying to pay people to have more babies. It has become ingrained into their culture now that the government can tell them to have five babies, but on the individual level, no one wants to have five babies even if you paid them. Also, there is like 3 men to 1 woman and so unless they start opening up breeding farms for Chinese women they aren't recovering from their own fukk up anytime soon lol.

As a side note, this also makes Xi's pursuit of ethnonationalism to increase his power harder. This is what he has stoked and relied on to increase the power of the state since he came into power. Ethnonationalism is anti-immigration by definition. The exact thing they need to help stave off population collapse lol
