That's not how things are measured in war. US failed on their objective. Vietnam was unified under one communist regime when it was previously divided into two. There were alot of alies of the 'West' in South Vietnam. Therefore those 58,000 lives lost and billions of dollars spent went to waste.around 58k US deaths....

The distinction does not make sense. Winning military is winning politically since a war ALWAYS has a political goal. You use your military to reach that goal. If you can't, it means you lose.
Winning battle =/= winning the war.
The US military won most of its battles in Vietnam, but proved itself unable to win the war. So they won those battles for nothing

The problem is the 3rd World War is an atomic one and is solely based on military technology. In an atomic war everyone that has the technology has a chance.

No. The political goal was to maintain the existence of the pro-US and non communist led South Vietnam.
Political goals achieved
As far as I know, South Vietnam is dead and Saigon is now called Ho-Chi Min city, the communists party still rule the entire country and Vietnam is neutral.

All things considered, i wish i seented more brothas and sisbrehs in Vietnams.
They love all people there and especially embrace urban culture/affinity for black folks. Lot of things to do, see and eat. Hoes kinda whack (especially cuz i like em thick, and dont asian women… but i like everything else aboot the country).

There is no communism in Vietnam. There is only a one party dictatorship that practices free market capitalism. The U.S. has no problem with dictatorships as long as they follow USA’s rules. The USA got everything it wanted from Vietnam through trade embargo’s and skillful diplomacy.USA lost the WAR since the communist party still rules SOUTH vietnam.
