How accurate is it? Is the brain, in a state of learning, supposed to be constantly deeply focused? Or is it normal for it to wander off? Based on what we know about cognition (that during periods where we actually do other stuff than learning on a particular subject, is when neurons connect and help us digest new info about the subject), would it be a good thing to try and pursue deep concentration all the time? If not all the time, how do we establish guidelines about how much focused time we're looking for? What happens if the child just can't focus this particular day? Seems like a device that would really kill creative and maybe even critical thinking skills. Some of the best and most innovative ideas come when you let your mind wander. I wouldn't be shocked if the Chinese eventually stick a zapper in those things that goes off whenever they lose focus.
