Yet you have the US with the highest prison population in the world with only a population of 300 million. That is on the domestic side of things. If you look globally at what the US has done vs China. China is the lesser evil

come on now you didn't read what I posted:

An estimated 500,000 people are currently enduring punitive detention without charge or trial, and millions are unable to access the legal system to seek redress for their grievances.

would you rather not even have access to lawyers?

Has nothing to do with what Im saying. We can play whos the bad guy. At the end of the day the switch in world power would benefit the third world

you brought up human rights abuses and the prison populations.

I guess we have differing world views. like what was already said in here, I don't think China's actions in Africa or the third world are because they want to be altruistic.

Of course not and I completely understand that, China is in it for the money like everyone else. But like ive been saying, the shift gives people buffer time , and its the lesser evil imo.

Yeah because people in the country actually have a say on foreign policy lol. I am only saying the inevitable, you have to be realistic. I never said I wanted the Russia and China to have the carte blanche in geo-politics. I said I would be more ideal to them surpassing the United States and NATO as world powers to weaken western influence. This is reality, when dealing with geo-politics you have to go with the lesser evil. The Good bad dichotomy is elementary.
I should say we should stop including Russia in this conversation. they are clearly :flabbynsick:

From a pure game theory point of view, I dont understand your argument. You cannot say with any kind of real certainty that a Chinese-led world would be better for the 3rd world. Why trade certainty with a possibility for change(the chances of this happening are obviously debatable) for complete uncertainty. Its not like China has any kind of tradition of promoting human rights and democratic principles. If that were the case, I might be inclined to agree with you. No matter how you try to rationalize it, it is a complete punting of responsibility.
