We're going to have to wait and see. The Caribbean is not like Africa where there is a preponderance of natural resources so foreign investment is necessary. Those who actually travel the Caribbean know that attitudes towards the Chinese vary greatly.

Attitudes uses to be better in Jamaica but the Chinese made shyt even worse cause Jamaica ain't seeing a dime out of any of it.

I think the real issue is is that if China doesnt do it, it isnt getting done. None of the naysayers have told us who will be doing the investing. It won't be the Haitian government investing in their own country so it needs to be another country. All countries are self interested and China isnt the Red Cross. I think we all need to get out of our feelings and make sure that China invests in the Human capital of Haiti.

They won't. It's up to Haiti's government of fools to allow the infrastructure development to directly affect the populace in a positive way.
The first step should have been education, and dual-citizenship so they don't get wiped out by brain-drain, but that hasn't happened yet.
