I already explained how modern Humans and modern dogs have had a symbiotic relationship in our common histories. Many question whether either species would have been able to survive and thrive as we have without this relationship. When I mentioned this, the response was "what about pigs, chickens and cows?" Dogs evolved from humans taming and domesticating wolves. Early humans used them to hunt, for protection, for transportation etc. and dogs were provided steady food, shelter and work.
