There’s two types of Chinese Jamaicans. The ones that have been there since the 1800s and are fully Jamaican in culture

and the new ones associated with Chinas investment in Jamaica

Two separate groups
I’m conscious of that most aren’t though

I imagine that would be shocking to visit over there and come across Chinese speaking the dialect and immersed in the culture like that.

You not lying; me and wifey stopped in Jamaica on a cruise one time, this was somewhere around 2005 or so. I was in one of the duty free shops, and I heard someone behind me talking in full, thick patois. The funny thing was, before leaving, my man at work was telling me about Chinese Jamaicans that I might see when we stopped there. I ain't believe him, hit him with the :comeon::childplease::shaq2::rudy:.... So while I'm in the duty free shop, I hear this conversation behind me, but I'm not paying attention to who's speaking. So at some point I'm looking for my wife, and I turn around, and there's this little Asian dude behind me with a cell phone to his ear, but he ain't talking. A couple minutes later, I turn around to look for my wife again, and this little Asian cat is spitting that full patois like I was used to hearing on Flatbush Ave back in Brooklyn. Whoever he was talking with had him aggy, so son was heavy with it. I couldn't help it, when I saw it was him, I literally looked at him with the :dwillhuh::merchant::whoo::ooh: Son looked back and was like "whoppin" :ld: I kept it a buck, told him I was just shocked to hear him talking the language. I told my man at work when I got back and he started dying laughing.
