This comes to around 350k per month :ld:

Is anyone surprised or shocked by how much these artist make compared to athletes :patrice:

Lillard making like 60m a year with his contract, shoe deal, endorsements etc :sas2:

If Bhris Brown is at the top of the game, then how much are these rappers that are clearly below him making then like the Durks, Fewtcha's, Gunna's of the world:jbhmm:

There might be some cap that's going along in rap

Just because a nikka have a song on radio or tv 24/7 doesn’t mean he or she getting paid

TLC sold 15 million albums for one album and only got $30,000 a piece and a jeep

tribe called quest went platinum on one album and got $90,000 to split…

a lot of these nikkas don’t own they publishing or masters in which ray Charles and James brown told nikkas over 50 years ago to do

TLC got like 1.3 million to split from CrazySexyCool

Still way less than they deserved but let’s not get carried away breh :comeon:

Though CrazySexyCool sold 11 million copies in the U.S., making an incredible $75 million dollars for their record company, TLC's ludicrously exploitative contracts only paid each of the members $50,000. This put the group in a bad spot, as they all had some serious debts. Left Eye still owed $1.3 million in the damages done to her boyfriend's home, and the group also owed their label money for the studio and rehearsal time they used for recording the album.

One year after the biggest R&B album in history exploded on the scene, the girls had to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1995 to help themselves out of the hole. It didn't effect the quality of their music, but it was shocking to fans and somewhat demoralizing for the group.

I was going by what they said on that interview or documentary where Left Eye broke down how much they got :hubie:

But how the fukk can an artist owe a label money for studio time when the album made 8 figures for the label? :gucci:

Y’all are tripping. Chris most definitely went mainstream. I remember back in 2011/2012 working at my job and hearing songs like Yeah 3x, She Ain’t You, Beautiful People, Turn Up The Music all the time on the pop stations like KTU and Z100.:stopitslime:
And Chris isn’t relevant now? No Guidance was a top 5 hit with a quarter billion views on YouTube and Go Crazy still gets crazy play on the radio. Chris Brown stays with a hit. :hhh:

how many artists own enough of the value chain of their music to be making big money(royalties, writing credits, mechanicals, revenue from use in ads, movies tv shows etc)

IS their tour money even significant like that? What are their costs? Do they produce music consistently? What do they do between albums?

Chris Brown making 4 mil a year sounds about right to me...

Also y'all need to cut out this bs about that Rihanna incident holding him back....people and especially young broads have moved on from that and literally do not give a SINGLE fukk about that shyt.

If Breezy makes a hit they like they gon wear it out

As soon as I saw according to child support numbers I knew it wouldn't be an accurate account. These dudes have great accountants hiding some wealth, otherwise child support would be more.

You know
aight you trolling.

Just bc you don’t like an artist, it doesn’t discredit their success.

I don’t like The Weeknd. I think his voice is whiny and he can’t sing without whatever addictive the sound engineer lays on his voice…that doesn’t make me stupid to the fact that he’s the hottest R/B act in the game.

If CB and Mario both did a concert in Atlanta who u think would sell out faster? I actually bet that Mario would have to cancel his concert due to “unforeseeable circumstances”
:lolbron:
I like Chris brown. You brown stans are delusional as fukk though :mjlol:

You know
Bruno and Weeknd are POP artists right now. Bruno is DOPE, but he drops once every 4-5yrs,while Chris brown has put out literally 100 songs in that time frame.

Chris Brown is in the category of R. Kelly and Trey Songz. There's a sect of white ppl who live them, but it's mostly urban fans
Wow :mjlol:

He should be making more than 4 m a year Chris Brown is top.10 biggest artists in the world, he has a top 10 hit nearly every year for the last 12 you can’t deny his run.

In retrospect he should have been bigger but even so he has a huge following, he’s cross over generations and still manages to be one of the biggest artists for that 12-18 teenage female crowd, while retaining his older fans and also.

He is the one Black male Rnb artist that you expect to hear on the radio with a big hit at least once every year, he has one right now with go crazy, before that no guidance he’s got like 90 m followers and is taking in less than rappers with a tenth of his followers, something isn’t adding up.

4 million yearly income is a lot, it really depends on his expenses. Between bills, taxes, child support and investments. He could be spending majority of his yearly income. That’s why you see a lot of entertainers go broke because even when the income starts to decline, their lifestyle stay the same. It’ll catch up eventually.
