I think it’s been established already that there’s not one type of audience who is tuning into a Versuz. That shyt only matters when you have matchups like Omarion and Mario whose peaks were those Scream Tour days. If you have real superstars and legends involved you can throw all that shyt out the window

I guarantee the people who put these together would fall all over themselves if Chris Brown and Bruno Mars decided to do a Versuz becuz they know it’ll have one of the highest number of viewers
I didn't say there's one audience tuning in. For a Verzuz featuring Chris Brown the audience will likely be heavily in his favor.

I don't disagree that Chris+Bruno is a moneymaker. I also said early Bruno probably isn't even the type to do this.

Why the artists gotta have ties tho? There’s plenty of these matchups that the artists had no ties to each other. Plus Ushers music spanned multiple generations so why put him in a box?
What artist went against someone from a different era?

And because this new format makes for a lot of pettiness, I don’t see any white artist being welcome in Verzuz assure from Jon B and any intergenerational battle is gonna just get a generation war popping, sure there is a crossover generation in there - people in their 30’s - but we’re still likely to champion 90’s-mid 00’s r&b

I just think it’s better when you can appreciate people who were defining an era together since sounds change so much

Idk why you think that shyt would favor Chris Brown considering Bruno been hotter in the urban market over the past half decade and some change

I never said they had matchups from different generations. I said they have had matchups that the artists didn’t have ties to each other. Like DMX and Snoop. But that shyt was dope tho. That’s the reason I made a point to say that Ushers music spanned multiple generations so we can’t just put him in the box of one generation

Usher has way too many hits. This is like the difference between a captain and a 3 star general. Chris definitely has hits and can entertain a crowd but Usher has the same raw skills with DECADES to sharpen those skills and polish his voice and choreography.

I don't know who I'd compare Chris too, but if usher is really trying in a verzuz it won't be close. Usher is a very difficult act to follow and despite his efforts, I don't know if I believe breezy can keep the crowd's energy up.

This Verzuz would be a tie and biased by the fans of both artists. I see it as more of a showcase, like CB mentioned in the interview.

Ties to me is inclusive of era - not sound or collabs

Ushers music does span different generations, Chris brown not so much. And like I said, it pops off a generation war when the older end of ushers fans are debating what’s good vs the younger fans who grew up entirely under Chris and for whom usher was a legacy act/throwback hour artist

Aight breh

And if we're playing "done for me lately" then Chris is over Usher also contrary to oldheads crying otherwise. But aight breh
It ain’t even really “done for me lately tho”. Bruno been hot in the urban market since Uptown Funk. That was a minute ago. But Usher got too much timeless shyt in his catalog. Personally I don’t think Usher and Breezy is a good matchup anyway

Bruno has been more pop than urban.

What about someone in the age bracket for both to be a part of their formative years?

I don’t think Usher and Chris Brown are good matchups at all. But I do think Usher and Bruno go better together becuz a lot of the people who came up loving Usher are the people who love Bruno Mars now. And I’m saying that from personal experience with women I know
