If Kyle Lowry is asking and looking for 100mil/3yr, then Chris Paul’s bytchass has every right to ask for the same, if not more

That being said, I wouldn’t want to pay him that kind of bread if I’m Phoenix. You’re essentially capped at max Booker, max Ayton, overpaid CP3, and maybe one other guy you’re overpaying to try and give that extra push

All this young depth with Cameron Johnson and Mikal Bridges with Crowder on a MLE and Payne on a 360 deal is out the window once you pay CP3 and give Ayton his extension
Lowry has a ring

He's young and a 3&D guy, they don't grow on trees. He will definitely be overpaid and NBA FO/Media does like to overrated these type of players but guys like him are good role players. I think Sarver will eventually cave in and pay Chris Paul but it is definitely tough to pay 3 guys big time money and then Cam Johnson later on too.

man 3 and d suppose to get paid Covington or Ariza money. I wouldn’t give offer more 18 mill to to him. He want more and I would start looking for sign and trade partners.

These aren’t guys you pay like franchise guys. Chicago made that mistake with Otto Porter.

Your top three most paid player must be guys that can take over. Say what you want about Milwaukee but jrue and. Middleton have shown they can take over in the 4th and create/hit the big shot. Ayton and bridges haven’t.

If you aren’t going to resign cp3 then you better find a suitable replacement who can create and hit their own shot in the fourth

At some point you gotta bank that dudes can become leaders and men without him…seems like the worst kept secret that they don’t view running this exact squad back as a solution to returning to the finals

Is CP3 worth it? I don’t see the Suns improving on this year’s run. A healthy Denver and Utah, the return of Golden State, Lakers will be good when healthy. Clippers will be bad with Kawhi out sure but I just don’t see the Suns getting to the western conference finals relying on CP3 staying healthy (and not choking). Plus I dunno what to think about Booker after that finals performance overall.

Ultimately it comes down to Ayton taking the leap offensively and becoming a go-to scorer/dominate two-way player.

Gotta become more Embiid/AD in the post, and less “Clint Capela with touch”.

If he can’t be that, then they ain’t closing the gap between them and the healthy versions of the West’s best...

...not without bringing another max level player to be *that* guy, which isn’t really CP3’s comfort zone.

Paul is an expensive luxury that doesn’t fit the need of a star co-scorer next to Booker

At his age i wouldn't give CP3 a 3 year deal but if they don't resign him and regress to a 40 win team next season heads will roll for that cause you just can't get what Paul brings to the table from any old point guard. He's the difference between fighting for a playoff spot and being a Finals contender. But you gotta think LONG term if you are the Suns.

They only got to the Finals because every team they played was hurt.

And the minute the bucks got back to full strength, they dropped 4 straight games to them and CP3 disappeared

Also, they were up 2-zip on the clippers. Then CP3 comes back and the clips tie the series up.

I would offer a two year super max with the 2nd year being a team option.

refuse ANY sign and trades and force his hand to play for the MLE or vet min elsewhere
Suns don’t have leverage like that in this situation.

You can’t really play hard ball as a franchise in today’s NBA, much less with a superstar, much less with the head of the PA.

If Sarver doesn't pay CP3, Devin Booker will be gone in a year or 2. Which works for me, because he might be a Laker :lolbron:
