Nice try at focusing on one sentence to attempt to force an argument. You are using the same excuse about litigation that I just talked about Doc and CP3 will be using now. Thus why you focused on one sentence out of my post

The facts are clear. And time has proven what many of us knew and/or suspected outcome, unless the players showed some guts by applying their leverage
What is a common phrase thrown at black folks whenever they speak about certain unique problems that face, "stop waiting for the whiteman, do something," so now that dismissive symbolic phrase doesn't mean anything now cause we are dealing with millionaires?

You are using another common excuse of "money" to justify the inaction of millionaires, used by too many black middle class and poor folks to be complacent towards lack of representation, disrespect, or racism. So at what point does having character and morals take precedence over money? Especially when you are willing to give other communities props for doing just that

Inaction? No, they voiced their displeasure and gave the NBA an opportunity to act... which they did. Every response doesn't need to be a full fledged boycott, especially not initially.

The problem with you fake militants is you expect drastic responses from others. We're talking about going toe to toe with an obstinate billionaire, that shyt takes time.

I'll ask again, how long did it take them to get rid of Marge Schott? And said waaayyyyy worse stuff than Sterling and said her nonsense in public.

No one knows the answer to that.

And how was Silver protecting Sterling? He banned that mf for life & forced him to sell the team. That's why we're having this discussion now

Yeah we do. Their response to all of this was the lame inside out warmups. Even Sterling clowned them for that whack "protest".

And the sale still hasn't been authorized. They skipped the owners' vote about removing Sterling.

Powerful. Now get the rest of the team on Paul's side and this could lead to a real change in the sports industry

Calling people c00ns on a forum isn't moving foward or addressing the issue...

Again. Fake militants posting for daps. If protesting is so warranted then it should start with fans who buy the damn tickets and merchandise who's putting the real money in them owners pockets.

Fake militant? What does that even mean anyway? And you say people are fake militants for daps but the post with the most daps in this thread is someone mocking fake militants. So what's the deal? :stopitslime:

LOL @ you fake millitants having a timetable on THEIR response to THEIR employer. Get the fukk outta here...if they don't play next year the response will still be very loud and the nba will react accordingly.
These guys on here don't know a damn thing about chess moves.

So on one hand you are talmbout being intimidated by going against a billionare but co-sign voicing your displeasure and waiting for others to do something
VERSUS
applying your cot damn leverage
So in other words....be complacent, tolerant of disrespect and wait for others to do something for you :heh: but yet black folks are always accused of doing just that, but it's different when dealing with millionares

More deflection attempt....bu bu what ago chicago, bu bu what about marge schott

I'm going to thank you also, for saving me wasting time discussing this further with you

When did I say this? :why:

Your reading comprehension is absolutely terrible. Your entire response is directed at positions I don't have and have not advocated.

Marge Schott is banned, and represents pretty much the only comparable situation to what we face now, yet it's deflection to bring up all that it took to force her out. Keyboard commandos :snoop:

i highly doubt they boycott.....even if they do, as some have said: this is too little, too late...they had their chance to take a stand when the tapes first leaked....they had everyone on their side - the media, fans, popular opinion, etc.; but instead of taking advantage of that, they decided playing basketball was more important....everyone will remember that, and they wont have that support like that if they sit out now....reason: he was still the owner when they continued playing during the playoffs....so people are gonna ask: what's the difference between now and then?......also, instead of them forcing the league to vote whether to remove him as owner that weekend, they have now allowed the league to not vote and hide behind 'it's outta our hands, and up to the courts now...let's let the legal system play out', which was the plan all along....cause i'm pretty sure sterling never agreed to sale the team, it was his wife and her representatives saying that....which i'm sure he was in on too....

with all that said: I hope they prove me wrong...if he still is the owner, I hope they boycott....I would love to see and welcome it...

Shouldn't some of the onus to change this be on the fans though? We're the majority, we're the ones who put the money in these owners/players pockets. We're the ones who elevate these dudes to god status because they can throw/catch/dribble a ball.

No we don't. And whether or not that silent protest was corny or not is each mans own opinion. and how did Sterling clown them?
