Tmac...Dirk...KG...Melo...all of something in common...they can be physically overwhelming players due to their athletic ability or strength or size...

Chris Paul is a 5 "10" semi fat point guard listed at 6 "0"...their are just physical limitations to the things he can do on offense and defense...
This is 100% true.

And 100% of the reason I don't care for him, cape for him, or think all that highly of him.

He's a limited superstar, but people talk about him like he's some ATG who can carry a franchise or lead his team.

Westbrook and Curry are both around 6'3. Westbrook has freak athleticism and strength. Curry is the GOAT shooter.

What does CP0 really do besides dribble dribble dribble pass or dribble dribble dribble shoot? Dude's jumper ain't even that wet. He used to lead the league in steals, but let's not act like he wasn't getting roasted by Deron Williams everytime he played Utah.

Yeah, Chris Paul is physically limited. And that's why I don't understand why people think he's so damn good to begin with... He needs 2 superstars around him to succeed.

Chris deserves the ring, the league did him dirty by vetoing that trade to lakers, that fukking clippers franchise is cursed, him and kobe would have at least made it to conference finals. He needs to run away from clippers, his team is good on paper but have a losing culture team in LA....these players are all over the commercials and other bullshyt, deandre is YET to learn a fukking post move or shoot free throws, you begin to question how hard they work outside of cp3. Ain't worth wasting time in there, he is not that young anymore and he STILL has to carry this team.
It would be awesome to see him on the spurs, but he's probably going to waste another year in los angeles

they had to trade Pau gasol to get Chris. Without Pau and Odom, the Lakers still would have been bad.

So because he's not a scorer, he's limited? Thats stupid. he's a leader. a pure point guard, gets guys in their right positions and he actually defends other point guards. His jumper is good enough to keep defenses honest. To me, that's all you can ask for.

Chris Paul is one of the greatest PGs to ever play the game, and a HoFer.
T-Mac had a few years where he was arguably the most dominant player in the game, and is also a HoFer.

Nah CP3 won't look worse than McGrady and to be honest McGrady won't end up looking bad himself.

to who ? for what ?

Kryie for Chris can happen if Lebron wants it to...

He runs that team...

Chris is his friend...

Kyrie don't really fukk with Bron like that and seems like he would be happy to go to LA and have his own team...

horrible for the clippers but if Chris wants out and Lebron wants him in cleveland there is nothing any coach or GM is going to do to stop it...

He's a leader, huh?

Same leader who let the Rockets come back from down 1-3?

Same leader who lost a double digit lead in Game 7 while Harden was on the bench?

Incredible leadership, I must say. Dude can't even lead his team to more than 1 series victory. Keep your "pure point guard." That's just a fancy way of saying he can't do the things Curry or Westbrook can. I'd much rather have them as my $100mil first option superstar than CP0.

He's limited cause he can't score like an elite scorer (Curry, Westbrook, Lillard, Kyrie can). He's not a great defender either, who exactly is he shutting down in his premier PG matchup? He really has never lead his team to shyt. And he's barely 6 feet tall, if that.

That's how he's limited.

What was Dirk supposed to do in 07? Guard Baron Davis and SJax and Monta Ellis? Only reason they won 67 games and a 1 seed was because of how dominant Dirk was and how easy he made it for his role player teammates.

What was TMac supposed to do in Orlando? He was already putting up MVP numbers and carrying a squad full of bums. Be the best perimeter player on his team and also be their best paint presence and rim protector?

What was KG supposed to do in Minnesota all those years? Again, putting up MVP numbers on a squad full of bums?

Chris Paul has Blake and DeAndre. That's more than those 3 guys above me ever had during those time periods I listed. None of those 3 guys ever got a pass for their post season failures. They took all the blame, as superstars do.

But you and everybody else in here want to endlessly cape for this career loser CP0. He's had more to work with than a lot of other superstars have had in the past. And he gets all sorts of passes and excuses while those other guys got CLOWNED for the same early post season exits.

I wonder what pre-ring Dirk and KG or Orlando TMac would have done if they had an All Star teammate like CP3 by their side...

Everybody in here want to treat CP like a superstar.
But they don't want to hold his feet to the fire like he's a superstar.
He can come up short and it's Okay, unlike other superstars.
You going hard on these cpo fans. I knew you was a real one :salute:

@dh86 you mad?

T Mac had an all star teammate in Houston in Yao. What did he do then?

I'm not caping for CP3. I think he's a flopper and a half :yeshrug: but that doesn't change the fact that Deandre is a bum who would never be on an all nba team if it weren't for Chris Paul so why are you acting as if he's some foundational piece that Chris should have success with no matter what

He's a HELL of a rebounder, shot blocker, and overall rim protector.

That alone is something shorter superstars need one way or another to achieve success. Just look how vital Mutombo was for Iverson in his Finals run.

Now before you get carried away and put words in my mouth, I never said Jordan is Dikembe. They're not in the same realm. But Jordan is a very very valuable asset on the defensive end. He was 1st team All NBA defense last year, and for good reason. Is he worth that contract? No. Is he a franchise player? No. Is he complete ass on offense? Definitely. But you have Reddikk, Paul, Crawford, Pierce, Griffin, and others. You shouldn't be counting on his offense.

DeAndre is a very valuable player to have on a contending team because of how difficult he makes it for other teams to get baskets in the paint. Don't try to discount this just because he's a clumsy oaf on the other end. Plenty of Cs have been valuable for their defensive presence and efforts with no regard for their offensive contributions.
