He could definitely reprise a Smokey character and make it work...
Only this time make him reformed and straight-laced with a family and some 9-5.. And maybe even give Craig a family and Dede a girlfriends/wife and have a reunion/wedding/or some sort of event where they all have to get together... They'd have to bring in a new ignorant character like Dede's younger half brother or some bullshyt and he does some stupid shyt that pulls the 3 of them into a whole ordeal filled with the regular Friday shenanigans...

Yeah i hear ya, but that still don't mean he can't negotiate. Maybe he feels he's getting weak offers by Ice Cube and all that so he's holdin out for more money even if he's that deep in debt. He doesn't have a lot of options that can give big checks and this is one of them.
It wasn't like a low budget hood comedy was gonna net him much money and he's right him coming back wouldn't be special it would be awkward. He's too old to play that kinda character so they'd have to revise the character and the same people clamoring for him to return would probably shyt on it. Nostalgia is blinding people here.
Chris Tucker could have been the new age Eddie Murphy. He could have taken a few more serious roles and made almost as much money as Will Smith. His inconsistency is almost like Ma$e levels.
Not sure what you mean... he's been in nothing but decent to really good movies outside of Rush Hour 3... or am I forgetting something?
