My Grandfather turned 104 this year and he can recall the stories his grandparents told him about their lives as slaves before they were freed. And he can also recall life for his parents during reconstruction. Slavery wasn't that long ago and we just got basic rights not even 60 years ago. Many of us still have family members alive who have direct links to slavery and reconstruction. These people can drink bleach and die.

If you don't have the balls to tell Jews to forget the holocaust or Americans to forget 9/11, then you don't have the right to tell my people to forget slavery, reconstruction, and Jim crow.
