I'm about this close to switching to Opera. WTF. I went into settings, changed all the presets that so when I open chrome, it goes straight to google.com (my homepage) and yet still when I open a new tab, it goes to conduit. wtf is going on? why is this happening?

Conduit search has nothing to do with Chrome, it's a virus.

Time to break out the RIIIIIIICE!

Nah but do a virus scan in safe mode on your computer

You didn't install anything else like a torrent or media player program?

Conduit is a browser hijacker that some programs bundle when you install them. Usually when people skip though the installation steps and don't uncheck a box.

Yea I know what you mean, nah man, Im pretty sure. Everything is so fresh on this computer the only thing I installed was utorrent and they aren't associated with conduit. anyways regardless, I went into setting and removed it, so now when I open chrome it DOES go to google.com now, however, when I hit new tab, it's going back to conduit. :snoop:

It is breh.

uTorrent got bought out a couple of years ago and they started bundling adware with their products.

Uninstall everything, run a virus scan in safe mode, and download a better torrent program.

Tixati is what I use, but qBittorent, Vuze, or Deluge are really good too.

:ohhh: dammmiiiiiiit.

I found an easier way to get rid of it, the problem was I was looking for the extension in chromes settings, which wasnt there cause I removed it all, but in fact you have to go into uninstall programs in the control panel, its actually embedded in the comp, not just the browser. It's gone now.

Vuze, I've heard of that, I might look into it.

Cool, just make sure you don't install the Vuze search bar either.

Always do a Custom installation.
