The ONLY time ive heard anyone reference Jim Jones in real life after 2006 was on the verzuz talking about how gray he is. Thats it. He doesnt have actual real life fans.
Remember when Jim thought he was going to get points in Verzuz off his lil songs?

These dudes love to talk about Jim Jones influence, the wallet chains and skull shyt, everything but the music.

I fukked with the Dip Set mostly because of Cam, still will go to bat for 98-04 Cam any day, but the super stans never want to address reality. Jim Jones and Juelz was C- rappers that got by on swag and production. There was no underlying substance which is why they can't tour and the streaming numbers is trash.

It is what it is. Jim was supposed to be Flava Flav, Magoo, Lil Cease, Spliff Starr status.

He overachieved IMO :yeshrug: How many former weed carriers became good rappers?

The kids might not rock with Nas in the masses (Weirdly enough I think Kanye and Eminem are the ones of the old guys that young people listen to from hwat Ive seen) but hes definetly got more young people who rock with him than most old dudes and hes definetly listened to more than Jim Jones even with this album run hes been on which is really being listen by the 30 something new york nikkas are

Completely agree he overachieved. But dude's a niche rapper. His core stanbase is devoted but very small. And his standing get wildly overstated by them online?

Fact is Jim can't headline a tour anywhere, not even at bars and clubs. Check his touring history, it's nonexistent. His last four projects debuted outside the top 200. His last one that debuted top 100 was over 10 years ago. His back catalog streaming numbers are light. So why pretend he's popping on any level, especially with a young audience?

I'm confused..where is the tangible evidence, stream numbers, sold out shows, singles, hot features, charting albums that shows Jim Jones is popping right now with the younger generation?
It’s regional thing I think. Jim plays with more modern sounds. Nas style is getting zero play from 25 and under. Jim may sneak one in here and there.

Jim Jones is trash

How he managed to carve a lane from Cam’ron’s hype man to one hit wonder to someone whose opinion we’re supposed to care about is INSANITY to me.
truth be told jim makes a lot of good music as corny as he is

hes in a full mid life crisis tho

Yeah the thing is, more young people play Nas simply because Nas is just far more popular than Jim Jones.

But Jim Jones music plays outside way more in functions with young audiences, because his music appeals more to outside activities that young nikkas are partaking in. So you will hear Jim Jones music play in certain spots if you out and about.
