They showed the bodycam. There were 2 officers chasing 4 suspects. Dude was running, fell and the gun fell to the ground. The one cop yelled he’s got a gun and when the other cop caught up to him behind a dumpster later, he shyt him thinking he was in possession of the gun. Truthfully, I don’t blame the cops for this and the dad is a p.o.s. It was UC’s graduation yesterday and the father killed an officer directing traffic for that. That’s some cowardly ish
I wouldn’t be so quick to accept a cops story if it were my son.

Maybe it was a mistake and maybe the father overreacted but I wouldn’t just be like shyt happens if my son was killed.

I went to school with a kid was the son of a Detroit police officer that was killed.

The son tried to get retribution didn’t kill the guy either shot and missed or hit and the boy lived the son got a pass and went to college with me.

Maybe it was seen as a justified shooting of his father because he was on the streets where the son was able to find him.

So his son was in a stolen car, with a gun, running from police… :francis:

I'm pretty certain he didn't but running from a stolen car with a burner in your hand while police chase you is pretty much a death sentence on its own.

Police end pursuits all the time when they determine the general public is in too much danger. When they do this cars don't crash, random people don't get shot or killed in crossfire. And 9/10 they get the people.

We all know if your a cop and you don't toe the line, you will be fired. There's been multiple stories where one cop was ready to shoot and their partner used de-escalation attempts and resolved the issue with no one getting shot and a police officer beating on someone and their partner being like ":whoa: :whoa: chill, chill!" And pull their partner off. And what happens when they get back to the office? The officers that de-escalated the situation or pulled their crazy coworker off a citizen got fired.

There's too much technology, equipment, and training, to pretend like these mfs ain't just shoot first, shoot at all costs.

Fortunately more events like this are going to happen, and they should until they adopt better solutions and change their own narratives.

There was a time when officers were pretty open about not wanting to shoot or kill someone. Now officers want smoke.

Violence begets violence.

what message?

his son was stealing vehicles carrying a gun. father ran over some random cop

this isn't justice or even revenge just fukk shyt
It's definitely revenge. I bet you they value the loss of their coworker and friend than they do of this mans son. He's hurts and now they hurt too.
