Yea but with ownership, hed have been able to get both profits and sell it after the value go up.

Parent company played the long game, knowing the value of the brand would be worth 10x times the profit sharing they were giving him on new flavors he promoted :francis:
And would've been to the first talking about selling out to the white man. You ain't slick

Stop it man. He literally exceeded all expectations from the beginning of his profit sharing deal. Made bank with little investment. It wasn't no long game planned. This is all revisionist crap. Nothing like that had been done before... They didn't know or expect anything that happened.

Whole premise of this thread is Black men are stupid mascots and people are fighting to make it seem so.

Nonsense. Utter nonsense. Revisionist, too, which makes it worse. You should take a lotokat yourself and ask why you're even doing this? :why:

The Puffy/Ciroc deal is one of the greatest deals in contemporary times.

Ownership ownership ownership :mjlol:

Do you know what Puffys overhead was the entire time he was with this company?

Because he had 50% of all North American profits. Surely that means he was investing a lot of his own money right? Well let's check the article you didn't read -

“We funded the purchase of DeLeón for the joint venture and proceeded to invest more than $100 million to grow the brand,” Diageo’s spokesperson said.

The spokesperson also claimed that Combs has made “nearly a billion dollars over the course of [the] 15-year relationship” but has contributed just $1,000 to the venture, refusing to honor any further commitments.

Puffy was a SPOKESPERSON with a 50% profit share. They paid him to grow the company and then also had to split profits with him 50/50 while he spent NOTHING.

Someone made A BILLION DOLLARS against ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, and did it with no stake or risk, and you are lining up to tell everyone what a bad businessman he is.

Why :dead:

Mans is Juelzing

Can’t portray yourself as the “owner” and then babble about how someone else was supposed to be keeping tabs on the plants. That’s insane.

Whether you own a lemonade stand or a car company, you have a sense of all of your suppliers, any issues with the supply chain, materials costs, issues with manufacturing and what your market share looks like.

Puff was pulled in to be the mascot and this particular brand was fine with him going overboard as he pretended to be the ringleader — not the ringmaster that we know him to be. Big difference between the two.

He wore out his welcome and they decided to treat the booze like an old case of quarter waters
