The ability to lie with a straight face in front of thousands of people has always been one of Puffy’s superpowers :mjlol:

Up there talking about purpose over profit when he knows he would promote ANYTHING to black folks if the check was big enough.

He wanted more money to shill that garbage (since he has no other business and can’t make his way back in music), the company told him “thanks but no thanks, you’re fired”, and now he’s trying to use it to virtue signal a crowd full of black folks.

Invest Fest is one big scam. Anyone serious about business, finance, or investing wouldn’t subject themselves to listening to Puffy or Steve Harvey bloviate about their business acumen (i.e. being a celebrity willing to whore your likeness to the highest bidder).

It’s nothing but platitudes about hard work, being your own boss, and generational wealth. Basically Entrepreneurship Twitter in real life.

I remember when Ciroc started making it rounds across IG. fukking shot 🥃 prices double in bars but everyone still bought it. 16 dollars  .

Decade later come to find out that didn't own shyt and is sueing these nikkas.

I don’t feel for him at all when it comes to this.

This dude hasn’t been a boss of anything for years and even during the peak of the Bad Boy years he couldn’t make moves without Clive’s blessing. That’s just the reality of it.

These booze companies feel/felt like they could use the culture to market shyt to us and it has worked fkf years. Look at the St Ides days. They got the top rappers at their peak to peddle malt liquor to the community and for a while it seemed cool.

Nonsense. Utter nonsense. Revisionist, too, which makes it worse. You should take a lotokat yourself and ask why you're even doing this? :why:

The Puffy/Ciroc deal is one of the greatest deals in contemporary times.

Ownership ownership ownership :mjlol:

Do you know what Puffys overhead was the entire time he was with this company?

Because he had 50% of all North American profits. Surely that means he was investing a lot of his own money right? Well let's check the article you didn't read -

“We funded the purchase of DeLeón for the joint venture and proceeded to invest more than $100 million to grow the brand,” Diageo’s spokesperson said.

The spokesperson also claimed that Combs has made “nearly a billion dollars over the course of [the] 15-year relationship” but has contributed just $1,000 to the venture, refusing to honor any further commitments.

Puffy was a SPOKESPERSON with a 50% profit share. They paid him to grow the company and then also had to split profits with him 50/50 while he spent NOTHING.

Someone made A BILLION DOLLARS against ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, and did it with no stake or risk, and you are lining up to tell everyone what a bad businessman he is.

Why :dead:
I see this comment went unaddressed.
Says he made $1B of his mascot duties.

Where and how do I sign up for this?

And yet he was just begging them for more money as of a few months ago. When you have no stake, no long term vision (and no sense) companies can fire you whenever they feel like it.

He’s not a good businessman; he’s a good salesman. The company took a flyer at the time and had nothing to lose. That’s more than likely they’re blasting him in the media. “You made at least $800 million for nothing, what are you complaining about?”

That money ain’t there anymore that’s why :sas2: Puffy wasn’t trying to make a comeback in music because he loves it so much; he needs the money. Same reason why he’s been giving his son every big hip hop sample there is for his career.

It’s kind of poetic because the company basically did him like he did all of his artists except he at least made some money off of it.

I see he still promotes DeLeon.
Can someone confirm this for me: We still has a financial interest in DeLeon, but he's completely out on Ciroc?
