This is so good. I'm still not done with it, I must have gone through about around 130 cycles.
But damn does it feel good to be able to immerse myself so deeply in a story and a world.
The gameplay works so well in that regard that I can't understate it. It benefits from the tabletop RPG mechanics at the core of its system, because they allow different paths and outcomes that give you agency, but leave room for surprises and tension. But in my opinion, it goes beyond that: the way these classic mechanics are tailored to this specific universe reinforces the immersion in a fashion I'm not really able to satisfyingly convey.
Like, I feel like the dice and cycle systems lend themselves so well to the repetitive, discrete nature of temporary work and its shifts. It's the most available form of labor in this futuristic capitalist world, and even when you invest time and energy (dice and cycles) in it, it remains barely enough to sustain expenses (fuel, supplies, food...).
Therefore interacting with the game world through these systems puts you, in a compelling way, in the shoes of someone who has to grind to get by, which is the case narratively.
And when you find a legitimate contract, you're excited because the story gets to progress in a new way, but also because those specific, complex and dangerous missions (that require specialized skills, teamwork and resources) are much more rewarding in terms of game resources. You might also be a little apprehensive because of the significant investment and risk they represent, and it's the case for your character as well.
That's just an example; all in all, I just want to say that I really appreciate how well gameplay, world and story are interwoven together and reinforce each other in this, allowing for this deeper immersion I'm so fond of.
I also want to reiterate that the artistic direction is top-notch and serves immersion greatly too. Not only is the music fantastic, the character designs are just

there are almost no spaces with gravity so far, so everybody is floating around. They manage to give everybody a "style of floating" that conveys their personality in such a dope way, that's just incredible.
