I played the first one I gotta finish. It took me a minute to learn the game and what you need to do.

Man when the system opens up 
This is so extensive and fun so far, somehow less stressful but just as much, if not more, engaging
The visual and musical esthetics are still top tier
Only issue remains the controls on switch that are annoying sometimes

I really liked the first game. This one is very much different but still maintains the spirit of the first game despite being more open ended. For younger gamers this is same feeling that we had when we played text adventures.
I think both are worth owning.
