I don't know what your experience with other Mexicans is, but I appreciate black history in general, but particularly in the United States because I'm Mexican American. I appreciate its contribution to the cultural landscape and the progress of a more universal application of freedom.
Have I met people who weren't Mexican who didn't like me for it? Yeah. However, I promised myself that I wouldn't internalize it as something negative and hateful that I would apply across their particular ethnic/racial group because then I would become everything I ever hated.
