The amount of money he’s made over his career so far, why would you want to be an employee to begin with?

ESPN is just being lazy.

Because retiring for good at 35-40 isn’t the wave. Prolly get bored quickly. That’s a lot of down time. Being an analyst allows him to continue making good cheese while talking about the game he loves.

When did it become cool to do this shyt while still playing?
This actually happened back in the day, and in plenty of other sports. Guys have done part time media work, particularly near the end of their careers, especially in boxing. NBATV (and TNT) has always had active players come in and do broadcast work. But with the amount of content out now, and the demand for it, and the ability to create it on your own, you’ll see this type of stuff at record numbers.

I will say though, it’s wild to me that Draymond is running a full podcast WHILE he’s going through the playoffs and making a title run lol.

There’s definitely been active players pop up on NBA TV through the years

He can ball but he’s being hated on by Coli coaches lol
Oldface young dude would bust everyone on The Coli's ass though 🤣
nikkas mad cuz CJ setting himself up for post-career :mjlol: y’all are miserable

CJ is an incredibly talented baller despite being undersized and not particularly athletic, is intelligent and finished his degree in journalism, is well-liked and was elected NBPA president, is happily married and takes care of his seed, runs real philanthropic efforts in his community, and is setting himself up for a post-basketball career.

By almost any fukking actual standard he's living a great life. But Coli haters constantly want to hate him for no clear reason other than they're bitter about their own life.
