I can't wait to get onto lesser acts like Digable Planets (though maybe The Coli are more familiar).

Either way, Redman should spark some interest and some real debate too because he has 3 contenders for that classic album title

Mind Playing Tricks is still a phenomenal song and the clear standout. An absolute classic. The rest are meh. Dated production. "Gotta Let Your Nuts Hang" and "Quickie" are decent.

Mind Playing Tricks is still a phenomenal song and the clear standout. An absolute classic. The rest are meh. Dated production. "Gotta Let Your Nuts Hang" and "Quickie" are decent.

fair enough. Everything is 'dated' when you think about it. With that said, there's no doubt that hip hop production really hits its stride in the 90s. The beats sound more melodic and fuller. The older stuff is just too sparse for the most part.

Mind Playin Tricks is the only beat on there that sounds full to me.

Beat is still incredible. But the kick and snare are dated. Not in a bad at all; they work with the track so well. It's fine wine shyt.

All it takes is an innovative new producer to show you how stuff's dated. Clams Casino did that for me.
